To begin with, I am back from conquering the Sawtooth Wilderness (at least the East to West approach) – it was a great trip full of adventures and beautiful scenery. Lord willing I will try to upload some pictures tonight or Saturday at the latest. Until then, I would like to introduce you [...] By the time you read this, I will be about 10 miles into the backcountry of the Sawtooth Wilderness. The crazy thing is that I will also have about 10 more miles of trail ahead of me before the return to civilization. Yelp – I’m attempting a 20 mile backpacking trip across the [...] It was too sad to be funny – and too true. You see, last week I was talking to a bunch of guys about the rapture (yelp, that can of worm) and I mentioned some culture and historical references that the 1st century church in Thessalonica would have known about concerning Paul’s statements. [...] Someone should host a “Top Ten Most Misused Bible Verse” competition, ‘cause 1 Chronicles 12:32 would be right up there near the top! 32 men of Issachar, who understood the times and knew what Israel should do—200 chiefs, with all their relatives under their command; Humor aside (or attempts thereof) – I am tired [...] Grrrr… How’s that for a starting place? People through out history have tried to ‘plan’ out the ‘end of the world’ either through Biblical prophecy, Mayan calendars, scientific studies or pure random guesses. It seems that we NEED to know when the world is going to end so that we plan out our [...] I finally got the chance to watch the newest Star Trek movie – and it is sweet!The way they introduced the characters while keeping the basic personality of each one was awesome. By the end of the movie I was jumping up and down in my seat trying to maintain a Vulcan like appearance [...] I have been part of a men’s bible study for the past few years. This is exceptional in that I have wanted to quit going many, many times over the years. You see, this group is unlike any other bible study I’ve ever been a part of – or heard about. Instead of [...] It is amazing how busy life can get. You get up, go to work, come home, eat, maybe do some odd jobs, and then crash. Day in and day out. Sunday evening was shaping up to be like that – but then my lovely bride stepped in and created a whole new experience. [...] In the beginning of Mark, Jesus goes down to the Jordan River to be baptized by John the Baptist. Right as He was coming up out of the water, a voice calls out from the heavens: “You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased." Pretty familiar text, right? Well, I just learned [...] |
